Abstract

Context and relevance. The relevance of providing psychological assistance to relatives of the FPS of Russia employees who died in a special military operation (hereinafter referred to as SMO) is beyond doubt. In addition to the functional restoration of the clients' personality, the implementation of this process determines the characteristics of the prestige and image of the service in the eyes of the public and an important deontological aspect for its employees. The theoretical basis for the study was the theory of the consequences of the performance of professional tasks by law enforcement officers in extreme (service and combat) conditions. The purpose of the study was to study the theoretical and methodological aspects and practice of providing psychological assistance to relatives of the FPS of Russia employees who died in the SMO, and to determine, based on the data obtained, the characteristics of the methodological support for this area of psychological work. Hypothesis. The negative consequences of the participation (death) of FPS of Russia employees in the SMO suggest the need to optimize the process of providing psychological assistance to their relatives, including the aspect of its methodological support. Methods and materials. More than two hundred psychologists and heads of psychological laboratories of FPS of Russia institutions, whose employees participated in the SMO, participated in the study. The characteristics of providing psychological assistance to relatives of deceased employees were studied through questionnaires, expert assessment and interviews. Results. The results of the study determined the characteristics of the psychological consequences of the death of employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the SMO for their relatives, as well as the characteristics of providing them with psychological assistance, including aspects of methodological support for this work. Relevant methodological foundations for psychological work with relatives of employees who died in the SMO were developed. Conclusions. It was determined that psychological work with relatives of employees who died in the SMO needs to be optimized in terms of its methodological support. The study contributed to the development of methodological foundations for the psychological assistance in question: the goal, objectives and principles of providing psychological assistance, etc.
