The development of maladaptive attitudes as a result of the impact of destructive organizations
Abstract
Context and relevance. The problem of spreading the ideology of destructive organizations is becoming more acute with the development of Internet technologies. Thus, the ideology of these organizations goes beyond personal recruitment directly by members of the organization and becomes available to an unlimited number of people. Currently, there are no measures to prevent and contain the spread of the ideology of destructive organizations due to the lack of a categorical apparatus and theoretical framework. Objective. To identify the main targets and methods of psychological influence on individuals who are not members of destructive organizations, but who have free access to their specific content, as well as to analyze the possibility of their developing maladaptive attitudes in connection with immersion in the ideology of destructive organizations. Hypothesis. The specific content of destructive organizations due to the implicit and explicit meanings and methods of psychological influence contained in it can lead to the development of maladaptive attitudes. Methods and materials. A qualitative and quantitative content analysis of the electronic resources of 3 organizations that are freely available on the Internet has been carried out. A total of 27 articles ranging from 1 to 15 pages were selected. The articles were selected in such a way that the ideology of the organization was presented as accurately and vividly as possible. Specific criteria for the analysis were developed, the significance of which was calculated using the formula of the specific weight of the category. Results. The results showed that the content of destructive organizations contains implicit and explicit meanings and techniques of psychological impact, which are aimed at changing human attitudes about himself and the world, which can subsequently lead to the development of the state of socio-psychological maladaptation. These changes can occur with a person who is not in this organization, but having certain personality traits, or in life circumstances that help reduce criticality to the information received, increase suggestibility, etc. Conclusions. Studying the specific content of destructive organizations can provoke a violation of mediation and hierarchy of motives, the formation of inadequate response and protection mechanisms, distortion of value orientations, which in turn can lead to the development of a state of socio-psychological maladaptation or support an already developing condition, which in the long term will lead to the development of persistent personality disorders and the unfolding of the pathological process. In this regard, it is necessary to develop measures to prevent and contain the spread of the ideology of these organizations.
