Abstract

The study discusses the best practices in the forms of extracurricular education used in the course of teaching students and doctoral students enrolled in Public Administration programs at New Bulgarian University (NBU), Bulgaria. The aim of the study is to present the organization and activities of the different types of forms of extracurricular education in these programs. Based on the surveys carried out during the period 2005-2010 and the results of their analysis, a number of suggestions are made how to improve both the organization and activities. The study defends the view that as regards their content the forms of extracurricular education already introduced and taught adequately provide for the achievement of the academic aims and goals set, related to the acquisition of the necessary skills, knowledge and professional competencies by the students and doctoral students enrolled in the programs of Public Administration at NBU.
