Abstract

The paper reviews and compares socio-demographic and individual psychological char- acteristics of elderly persons and their attitudes towards the stereotypes of youth and old age. The following three groups of subjects participated in the study: one control group (elderly people with no experience of victimization) and two experimental ones (victims of psycho- logical abuse per se and victims of psychological abuse combined with other types of mal- treatment). The conclusions drawn by the authors can be employed in further research on psychological abuse against elderly people.
