Holistic Development and Upbringing in Children’s Homes Across Countries: Educational Strategies for Environmental, Cultural, and Psychological Growth

1

Abstract

Children’s homes and orphanages play a crucial role in fostering the holistic development of children who lack parental care. This article analyzes educational programs implemented in children’s homes worldwide, focusing on environmental education, cultural-aesthetic development, psychological support, and life skills training. The study is based on desk research of academic literature, reports from international organizations, and case studies. Findings reveal that environmental education programs enhance ecological literacy and promote sustainable behaviors, while cultural-aesthetic education fosters creativity and emotional intelligence. Psychological support and life skills training help children cope with trauma and prepare for independent living. Special attention is given to the adaptation of educational strategies to cultural and regional contexts. The article emphasizes the importance of an interdisciplinary approach and highlights the need for further research to evaluate the effectiveness of these programs.
