The Potential of Using Social Networks in a Self-Studying of Chinese Language

Abstract

Social networks attract millions of users around the world, including for educational purposes. The peculiarities of interaction between participants in educational online communities require close attention and study, since well-structured communication is a powerful resource for increasing the effectiveness of learning. The article examines the educational potential of popular both Russian and international social networks dedicated to the study of the Chinese language. The author considers the possibilities of using social media platforms to improve knowledge of the Chinese language without the participation of a teacher or lecturer. The article presents practical tips and recommendations for social network users on the path to successful independent learning of the Chinese language. The article may be useful to those who want to learn to speak Chinese, but do not have access to professional courses or a teacher. The report will present the results of a study of students' attitudes towards the use of social networks and provide recommendations for the effective use of social networks for informal adult learning. The results of a survey confirming the validity of the use of social networks in learning the Chinese language are presented. The potential capabilities of social networks as a means of organizing independent and collective work are described.
