Online Support for the Formation of Multicultural Civic Qualities of Future Teachers

Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of the formation of multicultural civic qualities (PGK) among future teachers in the context of the cultural diversity of Crimea and Sevastopol. The study substantiates the need to move from traditional teaching methods to innovative online formats. The purpose of the work is to evaluate the effectiveness of the author's video course "I am a citizen of Crimea and Sevastopol" (IACS) on the development of key components of the PGK: civic identity, multicultural competence, critical thinking and intercultural dialogue skills. In the longitudinal experiment (N=67 students of pedagogical specialties), mixed methods were used: quantitative analysis (Student's t-test) and qualitative research (thematic essay analysis, focus groups). The results confirmed: a 60% increase in objective knowledge about the region (from 14.2 to 22.8 points); strengthening of national identity while maintaining regional patriotism; reduction of ethnic stereotypes by 18%; practical significance of cases (87% of positive reviews). The course integrates historical and cultural content, interactive tasks and reflective practices, demonstrating the potential of an online environment for fostering civic solidarity in multicultural regions of the Russian Federation. The prospects include adapting the model for the North Caucasus and the Volga region.
