В последние годы особую остроту для современных предприятий приобретают вопросы сохранения индивидуального опыта специалиста таким образом, чтобы применение этого опыта как можно меньше зависело от его конкретного носителя. В условиях быстрой смены характера профессиональной деятельности, обусловленной интенсивным развитием новых технологий и запросами рынка, подготовка новых специалистов в процессе совместной работы опытного профессионала и обучающегося субъекта не всегда возможна.
