Abstract

The article presents results of scientific research on typological features of working motivation among educational psychologists. The groups of psychologists with specific features of motivational structure were defined. The features used were: the interrelationships of ideal and real levels of leading motives of work. Results indicate that main factors of motivational sphere among educational psychologists are “activation of growth-motive”, “personality’s responsibility – aspiration for comfort”. The motivational sphere of psychologists differs by the growth-motive activation level that can be either high or moderate (low level would be a signal of the incapacity for professional activity) and by expression intensity either of personality’s responsibility or aspiration for comfort. It was shown that internal and personality responsible psychologists have higher motivational satisfaction. This desired by a professional effect is attained at the expense of subjectively controlled factors namely reducing the level of ideal comfort and rising the real level of satisfaction for the growth-motive compared to the external psychologists.
