Relationships of Interpersonal Importance in a Student Group at Different Stages of Learning

Abstract

The results of the socio-psychological study aimed at revealing the features of relationships with interpersonal importance in the student community are presented in the article. Questions about the specifics of intragroup structuring of educational groups in the psychological and educational institutions. The study involved 743 students from MSUPE, University of RAE and MSPU. The set of socio-psychological methods and techniques was used in the study: sociometric and auto-sociometric procedures, reference-metric and auto-reference-metric procedures, methodological technique of determining informal intragroup power structure in a contact community and a modified version of the G. Kelly’s Repertory Grid. The results indicate statistically significant differences in the nature of the process of differentiation in student groups at different stages of their development. The article also shows the specific role of the mid-status students in establishing a system of interpersonal relations.
