Particularities of development of motives of educational and professional activity at student age

Abstract

The article examines a problem of development of motives of educational and professional activity at university, which is relevant to student age and modern higher psychological education. The peculiarity of this research of the problem is the use of differentiated and formative approach. Basing on these approaches, three aspects of the problem can be identified: 1) classification of motives of educational and professional activity at university and evaluation of levels of their formation through conceptual characteristics; 2) composition and approbation of a diagnostics program aimed at study of state of motives of this activity; 3) study of logic of development of types of motives of educational and professional activity at university, identification and approbation of conditions which influence this development. A descriptive experiment carried out with psychology students of I-V years convincingly showed the necessity of purposeful work on development of motivation of educational and professional activity at university. For this purpose a set of innovative educational and methodical materials on basic psychological disciplines, including text books and work books, was developed and approved after research.
