Abstract

Context and relevance. The most important aspect of preparing a child for school and a condition for the success of mastering the program of the initial stage of education is the level of development of mental operations and the possibility of their implementation at the level of verbal and logical thinking. Objective. To standardize the "Test for diagnosis of mental activity in children aged 6-7" (author U.V. Ulenkova, modified by N.Y. Boryakova) and its adaptation to use in digital format. Hypothesis. The modified version of the "Test for diagnosis of mental activity in children aged 6-7” is a qualitative measuring tool in terms of its psychometric properties: reliability and validity. Methods and materials. The methodology was standardized on a sample of 1765 children aged 6-7 years from 72 to 95 months (M = 83,85 months; SD = 5,74 months). To check the external validity, an additional technique "Raven's Color Progressive Matrices" was used. Data processing methods and procedures: bifactor analysis, Cronbach's alpha and McDonald's omega coefficients, Spearman correlation coefficient, Mann-Whitney criterion, percentile normalization. Results. The one-factor structure of the methodology was revealed, high reliability, external and differential validity were proved, and statistical norms were calculated. Conclusions. This technique can be used to measure the level of development of mental activity in both normotypic children aged 6-7 and those with limited health opportunities (nosologies included in the standardization sample), for differential diagnosis, as well as to determine the dynamics of mental activity development in various educational settings.
