Abstract

The paper describes the outcomes of the research on differences between people with positive, negative and vaguely expressed moral orientation towards happiness, satisfaction with life in general and with its certain aspects, life quality and emotional state. Moral orientation was assessed according to the dispositional egoism scale and two techniques aimed at revealing the developmental levels of the moral beliefs "Do not take what's not yours" and "Do not accept bribes". The outcomes show that people with negative moral orientation tend to be more satisfied with life and happy, their emotional state is better than in others. On the contrary, people with positive moral orientation are less happy and display much greater concern with social problems. Dissatisfaction with the aspects of life related to individual well1being is more evident in subjects with negative and vaguely expressed moral orientation.
