The Potential of Artificial Intelligence Technologies in Education: A Study of Perceptions and Possibilities Among Regional Educators
Abstract
Digitalization is currently one of the most relevant trends in the global economy; not only material and technical resources, but also professions are subject to digital changes. Successful social adaptation in modern society requires knowledge and skills in working with new digital technologies; digital competence is becoming competitive in the selection of employees in the labor market, and this trend will only increase from year to year. Despite the fact that the Russian education system is quite conservative in its essence, it has also undergone a digital transformation. Artificial intelligence technologies (hereinafter AI) offer a large number of services that can help teachers solve labor-intensive tasks, thereby freeing up time for individualization of the learning process. The article presents data from a survey of teachers from municipalities in Krasnoyarsk Krai to determine their readiness to use AI technology in their professional activities. An analysis of the potential readiness of teachers to use AI technologies (including taking into account the age group) is provided, a number of problems that hinder the effective use of new tools in educational practice are identified, and recommendations are proposed to mitigate their negative consequences.
