Use of Digital Technologies by Teachers of the Subject «Fundamentals of Security and Defense of the Motherland» to Develop School Students’ Readiness for Military Service and Actions in Emergency Situations

Abstract

This article examines the use of digital technologies in teaching the subject Fundamentals of Security and Defense of the Motherland and their role in preparing school students for military service and actions in emergency situations. The study is based on a survey of teachers and explores current practices involving digital tools, interactive simulators, multimedia resources, and online platforms. Particular attention is given to the challenges that teachers face when integrating digital technologies, including the lack of methodological materials, limited technical resources, and time constraints. The paper highlights differences in digital adoption between younger and more experienced educators, as well as a generally high willingness among respondents to engage in professional development and adopt innovative teaching approaches. Recommendations are proposed to improve the digitalization of Fundamentals of Security and Defense of the Motherland, including infrastructure expansion, creation of digital scenario libraries, enhanced methodological support, and the development of models for the systemic integration of digital technologies into Fundamentals of Security and Defense of the Motherland teaching.
