Experience of using fairy tale fable in programs of basic prevention of use of psychoactive substances and risky behavior among children of junior school age

Abstract

In this article we describe the experience of developing and implementation of primary prevention programs of psychoactive substance abuse and risky behavior among children of 7-11 years old. It is shown that taking into account psychological peculiarities of this age, narrative-game form based on fairy tale fable can solve several important problems: keeping motivation for participation in the program, development of adaptive forms of behavior, actualization of moral values. It is emphasized that there is an important additional result of such programs - involvement of social surroundings of children (elder teenagers, students, parents, teachers, members of school administration) in prevention environment. The contribution presents detailed descriptions of scripts of classes from two author programs aimed at prevention of disturbed forms of adaptation, addiction to psychoactive substances and HIV-infection for children of junior school age.
