Specifics of social connections of adolescents and high-school pupils in the context of a cadet boarding school

Abstract

The empirical research which was carried out by us was aimed at studying the social environment (parents, peers, educators) and the level of social support of cadets studying in cadet boarding schools. Detailed examination of adolescent and high-school periods allowed to analyze the age-related dynamics of research parameters and to compare the received data with indices of the pupils of general education schools who are brought up in families. We found out that cadets studying under conditions of limited social circle receive more or less stable support of significant environment because the model of relationships with parents which is fixed in the adolescent’s conscience helps him to adapt to new conditions and reach certain communication aims.
