Reaching Out to Parents of Children with Disabilities: Resources of Applied Social Psychology in Promoting Social Work

Abstract

The paper focuses on the specifics of applied social psychology and analyzes reasons of its insufficient use. It is argued that social psychological aspects of professional activities of psychologists and specialists of related fields are very poorly developed. The paper describes a three-level structure of algorithm of social psychological projects and provides examples of how social psychological mechanisms can be employed in promoting the efficiency of interactions between social workers and parents of children with disabilities.
