Case study in higher school: problems of application and efficiency estimation

Abstract

Case study takes leading positions in training specialists at higher schools in the majority of foreign countries and is regarded as the most efficient way of teaching students how to solve typical professional tasks. The article reviews the general principles and approaches to organization of case study sessions for students. The most interesting and informative resources as well as the most perspective formats of case studies are presented in the article. The review compiles the findings concerning the educational efficiency and developmental potential of this method. The article outlines the perspective of extending the areas of case study application in higher schools' educational process.
